Gordon Bourns is the son of the co-founders of Bourns, Inc., Marlan and Rosemary Bourns, who started their Company in 1947, known then as the Bourns Laboratories, in their garage in Pasadena, California. Mr. Bourns joined the family business in 1973 and has managed various operations and business units since that time. He now serves as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Bourns, Inc. Mr. Bourns heads a worldwide electronics corporation which produces more than 10,000 different products. Mr. Bourns currently focuses much of his attention on strategic planning to accomplish the Company’s Mission. He leads the Bourns commitment to the Six Sigma quality process to assure the Company exceeds customer requirements and specifications, while anticipating their future needs through the continuous improvement of people, processes, products and services.

Mr. Bourns is Chairman of the Dean’s Council of Advisors for the University of California-Riverside, Marlan and Rosemary Bourns College of Engineering and a member and past Chairman of the Board of Directors for the UC Riverside Foundation. Mr. Bourns is also a member and past Chairman of the Board of Visitors for California Baptist University, where he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree in International Commerce from the Robert Jabs School of Business and a member of the Board of Advisors for the CBU College of Engineering. He is the past President and Chief Financial Officer of the Woodcrest Christian School System Board of Directors on which he has served since 1993, the Chairman of the Riverside Police Department Foundation, a member of Riverside Technology CEO Forum and a member of the SmartRiverside Board of Directors. Mr. Bourns is also a member of the Board of Directors for the STEP Conference, which holds an annual program for students from 4th grade to 12th grade to pique their interest in pursuing careers in STEM fields.

Mr. Bourns holds a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of California-Irvine and an MBA in finance/marketing from the University of California-Los Angeles
